Two Minute Tuesday (Part One): The Student Hand Focus

During the remodelling of The Student Hand, I honed in on a business model dedicated to helping students and graduates secure employment whilst equally benefiting businesses.

This year, we’ve faced an economic recession, hiring freezes, and job market stagnation. What a great time to launch a recruitment platform, right? Timing is everything, and mine was… unique.

However, over the past few weeks, as I’ve been working full-time on TSH since finishing my degree, I’ve had the chance to meet with industry experts, many of whom I connected with right here on LinkedIn.

In these meetings, I emphasised the primary benefit TSH offers: immediate access to quality candidates. Even though many companies are hiring less and looking to cut costs by not hiring as many graduates or interns, I firmly believe in one principle: the focus should shift from cost-saving in a stagnant job market to investing in your company’s future through QUALITY candidates. At TSH we can do both!

I also believe this is why businesses across the country are starting to notice us.

After researching the early careers space relentlessly, consulting with recruiters, and talent acquisition experts we identified these key issues in the early career recruitment process:

• Lack of Visibility for SMEs
• Inefficient Hiring Processes
• Mismatch Between Hiring Preferences and Candidate Expectations
• Timing Issues
• High Drop-Off Rates in Graduate Hiring
• Over-Reliance on Job Boards and Cold Outreach

The Student Hands process is built to overcome these exact challenges. Talent pools of quality students, streamlining your hiring, risk free. Our model is aimed to save business time and money whilst having a nationwide reach, something no other platform in NZ can offer.

Let’s turn these challenges into opportunities. Whether you’re here, for business or for students, let us help you out!
